Baihao Yin Zhen 2026 (White Tea) 50g
Silver Needle — the most prized of all white teas
Baihao Yin Zhen, or Silver Needle, is the highest grade of white tea, produced exclusively from the plump, downy buds of the Da Bai (Large White) cultivar in Fujian Province, China. The 2026 spring harvest captures the very first flush — tender buds carefully hand-plucked in late March to early April, when their nutrient concentration is at its peak.
Processing After harvesting, the buds undergo a gentle, natural withering process on bamboo trays for 36–38 hours until approximately 90% of the moisture is removed. The drying is then completed with a light baking at low temperature. This minimal processing — no rolling, no heavy oxidation — preserves the tea's original character and delicate biochemistry.
Appearance Straight, plump buds covered in fine silvery-white down, resembling slender needles with a soft shimmer. The infusion is a pale, luminous gold with a slight viscosity.
Tasting notes The flavour is smooth and gently sweet, with floral undertones of honeysuckle and linden. Look for subtle notes of fresh melon, cucumber, and a whisper of sweet hay. The mouthfeel is silky and round, with a clean, lingering sweetness in the aftertaste. As the session progresses, light creamy and almond-like nuances may emerge.
Effect Gently invigorating and clarifying. Rich in L-theanine and antioxidants, Silver Needle promotes a state of calm alertness — ideal for mindful tea sessions and quiet afternoons
