A traditional Chinese teapot crafted from warm red Yixing-style clay in the classic Long Dan (龙蛋) form — “Dragon Egg,” one of the most elegant and organically balanced shapes in Yixing teaware tradition. Celebrated for its smooth uninterrupted silhouette and harmonious proportions, the Long Dan form embodies simplicity, fullness, and quiet refinement.

This interpretation features a tall oval body with flowing contours and a seamless transition between the vessel and lid, creating the impression of a single continuous form. The rounded chamber retains heat exceptionally well and allows tea leaves to unfurl evenly during gongfu brewing, making the teapot especially suitable for yancha, dancong oolongs, black teas, aged white teas, and shu pu-erh.

The matte-fired surface highlights the fine mineral texture of the clay and gives the piece a soft tactile quality. A gently tapered spout provides a smooth and controlled pour, while the rounded loop handle offers comfortable ergonomic balance. The domed lid fits neatly into the body and is finished with a small pearl-shaped knop that reinforces the restrained elegance of the silhouette.

Free from excessive decoration, the design focuses entirely on form, balance, and craftsmanship — qualities deeply appreciated in traditional Yixing teaware culture. The Long Dan form remains one of the purest expressions of classical gongfu aesthetics, where simplicity itself becomes the central ornament.
